Trees you tag are saved on your device.
A sun-position algorithm by itself gives you generic shade — fine for an empty parking lot, useless under a tree line. ShadeScout lets you tag trees yourself: tag a tree in the camera view and it is saved on your device. Tags are also sent to our servers when the app can reach them, stored with your anonymous account ID, and merged into per-venue tree records that do not carry it. This version of the app does not show trees tagged by other people.

ShadeScout doesn't ask who you are.
Anonymous sign-in. No email, no password, no social login. Your location is used while the app is open; it is sent to our servers and to the map and weather services named in the privacy policy, and a saved spot or tree tag stores its location. Tree tags are stored with your anonymous account ID and merged into per-venue records that do not carry it. Deleting your account in the app asks our servers to delete the tags stored under your ID.
