FairScan — Terms of Service
By installing or using FairScan you agree to these terms.
The app
FairScan analyzes photographs of bills and quotes against community-sourced price data, producing an opinion on whether you're being charged fairly. Verdicts are advisory only. They are not financial, medical, or legal advice. Real-world prices vary by region, season, supply, and specifics not visible in a single photograph.
What you can do
- Use FairScan for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Share your scan results with the contractor, doctor, mechanic, or shop you're negotiating with
- Cancel your subscription via App Store or Play Store
What you may not do
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Submit fraudulent scans designed to manipulate community price data
- Scrape or republish the community benchmark dataset
- Rely on FairScan as a substitute for professional financial, medical, or legal advice
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions auto-renew through the App Store or Play Store unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refunds handled by Apple or Google.
The collective price book
FairScan's verdicts are powered by a proprietary anonymous price dataset built from every user's scans. When you submit a scan, the de-identified line-item pricing data (no OCR text, no personal information, no reference to you) joins this shared collective.
You grant Glippin Toys, LLC a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and incorporate that de-identified pricing data into the shared price book and any AI models trained on it. You retain ownership of your original scan — what we license is only the anonymized pricing data derived from it.
If you delete your account, your scan history is removed, but past anonymized contributions to the collective remain — they were de-identified at the moment of contribution and are not linkable to you.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. FairScan IS NOT LIABLE FOR YOUR FINANCIAL DECISIONS, NEGOTIATION OUTCOMES, OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP. AI VERDICTS ARE BEST-EFFORT AND CAN BE WRONG.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after updates take effect means you accept them.
